Rasuwilca new on shortwave in Peru
Radio Rasuwilca from Ayacucho, Peru, has been reported
heard on the frequency of 4805 kilohertz shortwave.
The station was first logged by Peruvian DXer Alfredo
Cañote on Condig mailing list on February
26, 2009. According to Cañote, the exact
location of the station is Faldas del Cerro La Picota
in Ayacucho.

Afghan
AM stations launched on 1386 and 1503 kHz
A couple of new mediumwave stations have been launched
in Afghanistan. The national broadcaster Radio Television
Afghanistan (RTA) has a new regional station called
Radio Paktin Voice in Barmal District on 1386 kHz,
with a transmitter power of 5 kW. Another new RTA
station on the air is Radio Badghis in Qalay-e-Naw,
broadcasting on 1503 kHz with 6 kW of power. Both
stations were reported by the World Radio TV Handbook
February update.

Castle
Radio is a low-power University Radio on 1278 kHz
Castle College in Nottingham in the United Kingdom
has launched its own radio station. Castle Radio
began broadcasting on 1278 kHz mediumwave on March
18, 2009. The radio station has previously aired
for just a week during the Spring term, but is now
on the air 24/7. The transmitter power of the station
is only 1 watt.
