Two temporary stations in the United Kingdom on 1278 AM

Highways Agency logoA temporary traffic advisory station has been set up in Swanley, Kent, in the United Kingdom. The Highway Agency Radio operates on low power on 1278 kHz AM from July 4 to August 1, 2007. The station promises to air up-to-date traffic news around Swanley on the M25 Junction 3 to the M20 interchange. Information about the station was first published by Steve Whitt on the MWC mailing list on June 16, but the station has not been reported heard by DXers. Red Sands Radio logo      Also on the same frequency of 1278 kHz, Red Sands Radio, a special RSL operation, has been heard since the first tests on July 13. Official broadcasts began on July 14. The temporary operation will sign off on July 23. Red Sands Radio broadcasts daily at 0600-1800 UTC from Red Sands Fort in the Thames Estuary, 8 miles off the coast of Whitstable. Red Sands was home to 1960's offshore stations Radio Invicta, KING Radio and Radio 390. Red Sands Radio has been reported heard in the United Kingdom and Denmark. The station can be reached by writing at Red Sands Radio, P.O. Box 299, Whitstable, Kent, CT5 2YA, in the United Kingdom, and by telephone at 07961 601 893.

Radio Máster new in Argentina on 1310 AM

Radio Máster AM 1310 is a new station in the capital region of Argentina. Radio Máster is located in the town of Luján, near Buenos Aires. It was first reported heard by DXer Arnaldo Slaen on July 7. The logging was published in the newsletter Conexión Digital number 428, but no further information about the station is known.
