Monumental on the air in Paraguay
Monumental
1080 AM has begun broadcasting in Asunción,
Paraguay. According to press reports in Paraguay,
the station, which is also referred to as Radio
Monumental, was launched on November 1. Radio Monumental
is on the air 24/7 on the AM frequency of 1080 kHz
and offers a variety of programs under slogan "Siempre
más", always more. Information about
the station was first published by DXer Arnaldo
Slaen on Condig mailing list on November 24, and
the station has also been logged in Brazil. Monumental
AM has a website,
which includes streaming audio and promotes the
station's presence on Facebook.

Argentina's
Fantástico heard as far as Europe on 1700 kHz
Fantástico FM 91.9 has begun simulcasting on
1700 kHz AM. The station was founded by recording
company Magenta. Fantástico FM is located in
Partido de Tigre in the capital Buenos Aires. First
information about the station was published by DXer
Federico Fuleston on Condig mailing list on October
21, and the station was immediately heard as far as
in Finland.
Another new station
on the Buenos Aires AM dial is La Radio de las Buenas
Nuevas (RBN) on 1510 kHz. This evangelical station
is unlicensed and is run by Iglesia de Dios Pentecostal
Movimiento de Lanús. RBN began its first test
transmissions already on April 5, 2010, but initially
with very low power. The station can be reached by
writing to Ejército de los Andes Nº 5,
del Barrio de Villa Fiorito (Banfield Oeste), Partido
de Lomas de Zamora, Provincia de Buenos Aires, or
by calling at (011) 4276-2423 or 4267-8740, as well
as by email.
