New
stations in Argentina on 1430, 1570, 1590 and 1630
kHz
La
Red Pampeana is a new station in Argentina broadcasting
on 1430 kHz. La Red Pampeana broadcasts from General
Pico, in the Province of La Pampa. Before the current
operation on the AM band, station Director Ruben
Arias first launched an FM station with sports format
back in 1994. Currently there are two FM stations,
on 89.7 and 95.7, both identifying as La Red Pampeana.

La Red Pampeana was first heard by Arnaldo Slaen
on August 8, and reported on the Condig mailing
list.
Another new
station is Radio Alegría broadcasting from
Luis Palacios, near Rosario, in the Province of
Santa Fé, on 1570 kHz. Programming consists
of Spanish-language oldies from the 1960's and 70's.
Radio Alegría broadcasts also on 99.1 MHz

Radio
Stentor on 1590 kHz is a new unlicensed station
from Buenos Aires. Arnaldo Slaen picked up the station
on July 2 during a test transmission. Telephone
number 4371-2597 was announced.
One more new
station in Argentina is Radio América on
1630 kHz, broadcasting from San José, Provincia
de Entre Ríos, since July 2011. Programming
originates from Melody FM 105.2 MHz. The station
was not heard in 2010 by Jan-Erik Österholm
in Finland, as earlier reported.

Radio
Marina tested from the Netherlands on 1485 kHz AM
Dutch
broadcaster Radio Marina has been testing on the
mediumwave frequency of 1485 kHz. Radio Marina was
transmitting offshore from radio ship Jenni Baynton
in Harlingen intermittently on July 29-31. The test
broadcasts consisted of oldies music. The station
can be reached by email.

KBC
Radio to begin broadcasts from Germany on 531 kHz
AM
KBC Radio, currently broadcasting
from Lithuania, is planning to begin test transmissions
from Germany on the frequency of 531 kHz AM. An
announcement about the upcoming tests was made on
the station's website already in March, and another
announcement indicated that the tests would take
place on July 21, but no broadcasts have yet been
reported heard by DXers.

Peruvian
Radio JPJ broadcasting on 3360 kHz
Radio
JPJ is a new legal shortwave station from Peru,
broadcasting on 3360 kHz. Radio JPJ (named after
its director Jesús Párraga Jiménez)
is located in Monte Los Olivos, Distrito de San
Martin de Porres, in the Province and Department
of Lima. The station was first heard on June 9,
2011, by Markku Kaunisto, Jouni Keskinen and Juha
Vehmas in Finland. According to information received
by Henrik Klemetz and Alfredo Cañote, Radio
JPJ uses call letters OAW4Y and has a power of 1
kW. The address is Manzana D, Lote 9, Asoc. Vivienda
Monte Los Olivos, Distrito de San Martín
de Porres, Provincia y Departamento de Lima, Perú.

New Italian
station heard on 1233 kHz
A station identifying
itself as "Media Veneto" has been heard
by Czech DXer Karel Honzik on 1233 kHz mediumwave.
Already in late May Honzik heard test broadcasts
with music and station identifications, but the
station has not been subsequently reported by other
DXers. An Italian website titled Media Veneto displays
the logo of Radio Vicenza, but gives no further
information. The company, located in Asiago in the
province of Vicenza, can however be reached by email.

Saipan
and Kiribati launch stations on 1440 kHz AM
KKMP
has begun broadcasting from Saipan in December 2010.
The station simulcasts on FM 92.1 MHz. KKMP plays
island music from around the world, and claims to
be the first locally owned and operated radio station
in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.

Meanwhile, Radio
Kiribati has been broadcasting on the same frequency
since March 28 this year. Radio Kiribati switched
from 846 to 1440 kHz, and also upgraded its transmitter,
thanks to support from the Taiwanese government.
