Logos from Peru heard on 4810 kHz shortwave
Radio Logos is a new Peruvian
station, heard widely on 4810 kHz in the 60 meter
shortwave band since July. OAW9A Radio Logos is
run by Iglesia Evangélica Central in Chazuta,
near Tarapoto in northern Peru, and is meant to
air Christian programming to the Peruvian Amazon
region. Radio Logos has been heard signing off in
the local mornings around 1100 UTC and in the local
evenings around 0300 UTC. The transmitter power
is 1 kW. Station manager Pastor Jairo Sangama can

Russia
allows new AM stations, first in Moscow on 1584
kHz
A new class of broadcasting stations
is being launched in Russia. Starting July 1, private
non-professional entities are allowed to set up
broadcasting stations in the 1575-1593 kHz AM frequency
range. The first station to take advantage of the
new license was Radio Zeleny Glazh (Radio Green
Eyes), transmitting from Moscow on 1584 kHz. The
station broadcasts at 1700-2000 UTC. According to
Victor Rutkowski on Open dx, Radio MTUCI (Moscow
Technical University of Communication and Informatics)
began broadcasting on the same frequency on July
23. Radio MTUCI broadcasts during daytime hours.
A total of 25 radio stations will be operational,
the vast majority of them on 1584 kHz. However,
a station in Tyumen will be using 1575 kHz, and
a station in St. Petersburg 1593 kHz.

Spirit
Radio on the air from Ireland on 549 kHz AM
A
new legal AM station has been launched in Ireland
on the AM frequency of 549 kHz. Spirit Radio broadcasts
nationwide from Carrickroe in County Monaghan on
AM and over five FM transmitters across the country.
The first test transmissions on 549 AM were heard
in late June. Programming consists mostly of contemporary
